Kochi, Sep 28: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted surprise raids at premises linked to GST Joint Commissioner in connection with a disproportionate assets case & seized ₹14.10 lakh in unaccounted cash and $788 during the 13-hour raid.
Vigilance teams searched Prajani’s office at the GST Joint Commissionerate in Thevara, her residence in Pachalam and another property in Kochi.
During the preliminary inquiry, the Vigilance found that she had accumulated assets worth around ₹2.89 crore beyond her known sources of income between 2014 and 2024.
She had been under the Vigilance Department’s scrutiny after allegations surfaced regarding irregularities in GST filings by some bars in Kochi.
The searches were conducted after a warrant was issued by the Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court. The recovered cash and documents will be submitted before the court.
