SRINAGAR, Sep 25: Police have arrested a Physical Education Teacher in connection with an alleged sexual harassment case involving a 15-year-old girl in the Aripal area of Tral in Pulwama district.
According to police, a written complaint was received at Police Post Aripal on September 24 alleging sexual harassment of the minor by Bilal Ahmad Lone, who is posted as a PET at Government High School, Lam, Aripal.
Following the complaint, police registered FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act at Police Station Tral.
Police said a team initiated the investigation and, based on technical and human intelligence, established the alleged involvement of the accused.
The accused was subsequently apprehended and arrested Police said legal action would be taken in accordance with law and reiterated its commitment to protecting children from offences against minors.
