JAMMU, Sept 24: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has kept his Promise of resolving Gair mumkin Khad Lands issue in Current year to benefit thousands in Jammu and Kashmir.
A bill to amend Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act-2019 to resolve the Gir Mumkin Khad Lands issue which do not serve as a Water source, which will beenfit large number of People.
The bill is likely to come up on September 29 and 30 , as both the days have been fixed in the Legislative Assembly for the Government business.
It is to mention here that till today there is no any order on ground on ban on sale/purchase of Gair Mumkin Nomenclature Lands but despite clear cut clarifications by High Court in PIL & following SRO 456 of 2017 & thereafter issuance of Govt Orders issued by Revenue Secretary on approvals of Administrative Councils Decision dtd 29th Jan 2022 & 25th July 2024, FCR/Revenue Secretary, Div Com/DC's & Chief Engineer, I&FC did not bothered to resolve the issue, causing harassment to thousand of innocents & no concrete actions led to causing loss of crores per month to JKUT Govt as Stamp Duty Fee & other Taxes & other side stopping developments in particular areas, so responsibility of defaulting officers needed to be fixed.
However, CM Omar Abdullah in September 2025 constituted a high level committee of 03 Ministers headed by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary to resolve the issue and thereafter committed in Last Assembly session to resolve the issue in current financial year & which he did, as if Bill is introduced , will be cleared with Majority on side of the Government.
