CAT questions J&K Govt that if powers are with Director, then how CEO issued impugned order: Accords "Status quo"

Jammu, July 28: In O.A./1061/2026 (JAMMU) titled BASHRAT BASHIR Vs SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT after hearing CAT ordered as under:-

Notices be issued to the respondents, returnable on or before the next date of hearing.

Mr. Sudesh Magotra, ld. A.A.G. appears and waives notices on behalf of the respondents.

Respondents are directed to file reply within four weeks, furnishing a copy of the same to applicant's counsel.

Status quo as on date shall be maintained and no coercive action shall be taken against the applicant.

Meanwhile, respondents are directed to explain in their reply that vide order dated 01.08.2024 it has been provided that all transfers deployments can only be done by Joint Director by the approval of respective Director, then how the Chief Education Officer has issued the impugned order.
