RAMBAN, JULY 02: The District Administration Ramban, led by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, today extended a warm welcome to the first batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 pilgrims at Chanderkote and Banihal.
The welcome ceremony was attended by DIG DKR Range Sargun Shukla; SSP Ramban Arun Gupta; SSP Traffic NHW Raja Adil Hamid; ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo; ACD Sheraz Ahmed, along with other senior officers. While SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajraan, SDM Ramsu Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah along with other officers welcomed the Yatra at Lamber Banihal.
The event was also graced by prominent citizens, members of civil society, and representatives of various religious and social organizations, who joined in welcoming the pilgrims with great enthusiasm and devotion.
The dignitaries also interacted with the devotees and extended their best wishes for a safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner and other dignitaries reviewed the arrangements made for the pilgrims at the Langar sites, Yatri Niwas at Chanderkote, Yatra Camp Lamber (Banihal), and other designated locations in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the District Administration has put in place comprehensive civil amenities and robust security arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
He informed that adequate facilities for boarding, lodging, sanitation, drinking water, power supply, and emergency medical assistance have been established. Round-the-clock helplines have also been made operational to assist pilgrims in the event of any emergency or weather-related halt.
The DC added that the District Administration is working round the clock in close coordination with all stakeholder departments to provide seamless support and ensure the safe, secure, and hassle-free passage of the devotees undertaking the holy pilgrimage.
