SRINAGAR, July 02: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Kashmir, of the Crime Branch has filed a chargesheet against four individuals accused of allegedly securing government jobs in the Health Department by using fake and forged educational certificates.
The chargesheet was presented before the Court of the Forest Magistrate, Srinagar, in connection with FIR No. 16/2014 registered under Sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating) and 471 (using forged documents as genuine) of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
The accused have been identified as Shuja Jeelani of Pamposh Colony, Chanapora, Srinagar; Mohammad Iqbal of Umar Colony, Lal Nagar, Chanapora, Srinagar; Nisar Ahmad Wani of Malwari, Pulwama; and Riyaz Ahmad Shah of Midoora, Awantipora, Pulwama.
According to the Crime Branch, the case originated from a complaint alleging that the four candidates, who had been selected by the Services Selection Recruitment Board for various posts in the Health Department, had obtained appointments on the basis of forged educational testimonials.
The investigation found that the educational certificates submitted by the accused during the recruitment process were fake and did not match the official records produced during verification.
Following the verification, their selections were cancelled.
It was concluded that the accused had allegedly secured government employment by fraudulently using forged educational documents, thereby cheating the recruiting authorities.
