Opposition MLAs Sit On Protest Outside Secreteriat; Demand Resignation Of CM & Speaker

JAMMU, Jan 31: Opposition party MLAs staged a sit in protest against the government outside the secretariat and demanded that either CM Mehbooba  or Speaker Kavinder Gupta should resign.

The MLAs said that they will not let the House work , If one of them not resigns.

Earlier in the day BJP MLA from Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia in the zero hour demanded that CM’s remarks that those opposing 370 are anti-nationals should be expunged.

Speaker  said that the remarks of Chief Minister have not been expunged and  Chief Minister will come to clarify her statement.

This lead to massive uproar in the house and twin adjournments first for 15 minutes and later for 30 minutes.

Congress MLA Nawang Zingin Jora referred to Mehbooba's anti national remarks for those who oppose special status.

The Congress MLA said not even a single BJP MLA dared to challange Mehbooba as she made them anti-nationals on the floor of Lower House.

"The Party has been exposed for double speak," said Jora.
