Srinagar, October 4: Jammu and Kashmir’s Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department (RDD&PR) is set for a leadership transition as senior IAS officer Mohammad Aijaz Asad is moving out of the J&K administration following a transfer to Arunachal Pradesh, who Leaves behind a High-Performing RDD.
2012-batch AGMUT-cadre officer was serving as Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, a position from which he has overseen a wide-ranging rural-development portfolio covering Panchayati Raj institutions, rural employment, sanitation, livelihoods and grassroots planning.
As per details with Cross Town News , Asad
was looking after preparations for Reform Utsav under the People’s Plan Campaign and directed the department to organise special Gram Sabhas across every Panchayat in J&K.
The immediate question now before the administration is who will assume charge of the department after Asad’s departure.
The transition comes at a significant juncture for the department, where Asad played key role in implementing major rural-development and Panchayati Raj programmes across Jammu and Kashmir.
