
JAMMU, Jan 12: As of end of 2015-16, Public Works (Roads and Buildings) Department maintains 34,412 km of roads in Jammu & Kashmir.
As per data available with Cross Town News , it has increased from 18,368 km in 2007-08.
However, in years 2014-15 and 2015-16, there has been under-spending with respect to plan expenditure of roads.
In 2014-15, Rs 496 crore has been approved, of which only 88% of it is spent. Similarly, in 2015-16, Rs 1,336 crore has been approved, out of which only 77% of it has been spent.
