Team Helios of Jodhamal School Jammu to participate in F1 for schools in London

JAMMU, Oct 06:Team Helios Racing of Jodhamal Public School participated in prestigious F1 in School challenge season 4 held in Delhi.

They showcased their exceptional technical skills, innovative thinking and made a special mark by qualifying for the F1 in school World Finals, scheduled to be held in United Kingdom in 2022.

The team members include Skasham Sagar, Samridh Sharma, Samik J Singh, Ashmit Gupta and Mysha Tabrez mentored by Ms. Neetu Johri. Out of the top 30 national teams participating in the event, Team Helios qualified for the International World Finals in the United Kingdom.

Jodhamal Public School in collaboration with Times of Sports has been conducting STEM programmes for the last few years.

This STEM programme is multi-disciplinary challenge in which team of students aged 9 to 19 deploy CAD / CAM software to collaborate design, analyse, manufacture, test and then race miniature compressed air powered balsa wood F1 cars.

Based on the formula 1 motorsport, the competition involves the designing and manufacturing of a miniature working F1 car model by individual team from all over the country, which then race with each other on a 25 meter long track.

After winning four awards including the Resilience Award, the Pit Display Award, Fastest Reaction Time Award and the Runner Up Award at the national stage, the team is now gearing up for one of the biggest world finals, a few months away.

Mr. Nandan Kuthiala, Trustee and Dr. Deep Khare, Principal of Jodhamal Public School, Jammu celebrates their victory and appreciated the sheer hard work put in by the team and their mentor for achieving this marvellous feat.
