KATRA, Nov 4 - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is organising a 2-day training workshop on Indoor Rifle and Pistol Shooting for budding shooters of Katra and the surrounding areas at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, Katra. The workshop will commence on 5 November 2016 at 10.30 a.m.
Giving details about the training workshop, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Director Sports of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board informed that its objective is to equip the young shooters with basic skills like adopting proper techniques, handling of weapons, body posture, perfect equilibrium between body and mind, consistency, control on nerves and muscles, balanced diet as well as all the required technical and tactical aspects of the discipline. As many as 25 shooters of the area are likely to participate in this workshop.
The Director Sports further informed that Mr. Samresh Jung, an ace shooter of international repute and Arjuna Awardee, who is Member of the Governing Council of the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, will inaugurate the workshop and interact with the shooters and coaches and impart them the required techniques.
