SRINAGAR, Sep 22: The Chief Medical Officer Srinagar today issued show-cause notices to 12 private hospitals and healthcare institutions for allegedly failing to comply with directions on implementation of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme and remaining absent from a meeting convened by health authorities.
The notices direct the institutions to submit explanations within two hours of receipt, along with documentary evidence of compliance, if any. Failure to respond would invite further action under applicable rules without further notice.
The action follows a September 21 meeting convened by the CMO on NAPS implementation in private hospitals and nursing homes. The institutions were directed to register and enrol under the scheme, implement it on a "mission mode" and engage apprentices equivalent to 15 per cent of their total employee strength.
They were also asked to submit their updated enrolment status by September 22.
