UDHAMPUR, JUNE 20-The Legal Metrology Department Udhampur today charged a fine of Rs ten thousand from an LPG dealer for overcharging on the sale of domestic cylinders.
The Dealer was booked following complaints from consumers regarding overcharging and poor home delivery in the town. The department has also served a legal notice to the LPG dealer.
Further the dealer was directed to display mobile numbers of delivery men for different areas a conspicuous places like outside the showroom so that the consumers can book for refilling through SMS. He was also asked to educate people regarding PDT (Preferred Delivery Time) system to facilitate the consumers where both husband and wife are working and there is nobody at home to take delivery.
Meanwhile the Assistant Controller, Udhampur has appealed to the public to register their genuine complaints with the office of legal metrology.
