SRINAGAR, May 13: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today urged stakeholders for creating Kashmir willow cricket bat a global brand.
Inspecting the Common Facility Centre for Cricket Bats Cluster, Sethar Bijbehara, Ganga inspected 25 seasoning chambers along with 10 boilers at the cluster to be offered to the local manufacturers for effectively improving the quality of their product, thereby, making them competent to the national and international brands.
The Minister while addressing local manufacturers at Sports Goods Complex, Bijbehar urged for a brand creation for Kashmir willow cricket bat and efforts towards making it nationally and globally popular.
“In order to fulfil Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti’s vision of value addition to willow bats, the CFC Cricket Bats Cluster is being upgraded and efforts are being put in place to curb the illicit willow trade across the borders of the Jammu and Kashmir,” the Minister said.
