Jammu, Dec 27: Police Department have placed Sub Inspector Gul Sheraz, Sector Officer Traffic Mughal Road, under suspension for alleged misuse of an official vehicle to create a social media reel.
It said that the officer used an official Innova Crysta interceptor vehicle for the video, which later went viral on social media platforms. The footage reportedly showed the officer protruding from the fully opened front door of the moving vehicle while it was being driven on the snow laden and slippery Mughal Road near Pir Ki Gali".
The incident drew criticism and raised concerns over road safety and professional conduct, particularly in view of the hazardous weather and road conditions in the area.
Following the suspension, Assistant Sub Inspector Anil Kumar has been deployed as the new Sector Officer Traffic on Mughal Road.”
A departmental enquiry into the incident has been ordered by the Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic Rural Jammu and entrusted to the Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Rajouri Poonch & the suspended officer has been directed to report to Traffic Police Lines Rural Jammu with immediate effect.
