JAMMU, APRIL ,26: To further boost development in the state by Rural Development Department, Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice Abdul Haq Khan inaugurated one Common Facility Centre (CFC) and one playground constructed by the department.
The CFC building has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.21.75 lacs in the Panchayat Ganderwan of Block Akhnoor and the play ground at Panchayat Kotli Tanda constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 10 lacs under MGNREGA during on a land measuring 13 Kanals.
MLA, Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Haq said that CFCs are being constructed in every village so that people can use them for organizing community functions, training local youths and holding meetings. “The state government is also strengthening the Panchayats so that local people plan and supervise works for the benefit of the village” he added.
He also encouraged people to participate in the development process for ensuring quality and timely completion of the taken up projects.
The Minister appealed the people to support the efforts of the government which are being initiated to improve their living standards. He said people are the best judges of actions of the government and they must keep a strict monitoring over all works being executed in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, the Minister directed the concerned officer to construct a link road to mohalla Chowkidara in Panchayat Kotli Tanda and the extension of main pond at Panchayat Gandharwan so that the local public would be benefitted.
Director Rural Development, Jammu, M. L. Raina, SE REW, B. D. Pangotra, Assistant Commissioner Development, Showket Mahmood Malik, Executive Engineer Jammu, Parvez Iqbal Malik, BDO Akhnoor, Shahid Iqbal, Sarpanches, Panchs and other staff member of Rural Development Department were present on the occasion.
