NEW DELHI, Apr 15: Centre Govenment on Friday suspended the passport of businessman Vijay Mallya after the the recommendation of the Enforcement Directorate. Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said that the diplomatic passport of Mallya has been immediately suspended for a period of four weeks with immediate effect under Section 10 A of the Passport Act. Mallya has been asked to respond within a week.
If Vijay Mallya fails to respond within the stipulated time, it will be assumed that he has no response to offer and the MEA will go ahead with the revocation, sai an official. (Agencies)
