CS Reviews Latest Status Of NFSA Implementation With DCs

JAMMU, Feb 26: Chief Secretary, B R Sharma Friday reviewed the latest status of NFSA implementation in a video conference with Deputy Commissioners.

Chief Secretary received brief with regard to distribution of e-ration tickets, total off take of food grains and distribution of ration under NFSA.

Chief Secretary on the occasion reiterated the directions of the State Administrative Council (SAC) with regard to implementation of NFSA in the state. He asked DCs to remove misconceptions in the public about NFSA through frequent field visits, interacting with public and also utilising both electronic and print media to propagate the benefits that will accrue to the public with the implementation of this Act.

SAC in its meeting on 25th February had directed the CA&PD department to analyze the problems / difficulties arising out of the implementation of NFSA and chalk out a comprehensive action plan to address the genuine grievances of the people.

Chief Secretary also reviewed the status of financial assistance being disbursed to the flood affected traders and households whose structures were damaged in the floods of September 2014.

Chief Secretary asked DCs to immediately complete the process of reconciliation of the list of damaged houses with the data of damaged houses available with the NDMA New Delhi, which has transferred the financial assistance out of Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF) into the bank account numbers of affectees through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
