Governor To Make Changes In Approach Process Of Administration Working In J&K

JAMMU, Feb 4: Governor N.N Vohra held extensive discussions with Mr. B.R. Sharma, Chief Secretary and Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar, DGP, today to review important matters which require timely decisions. The Governor directed the Chief Secretary to undertake an immediate review with all Administrative Secretaries to identify important matters pending in each department and ensure that the same are decided on time bound basis.

The Governor directed the DGP to strengthen surveillance and further tighten law and order maintenance all over the State. He asked both the CS and DGP to issue special instructions to all echelons to particularly ensure that the demands and convenience of the people at large were looked after and no harassment of any kind is caused.

Spokesman of the Raj Bhawan recalled that, after the promulgation of Governor’s Rule, the Governor had, in the short term context, issued directions regarding the work of each department being largely cleared by the Administrative Secretary concerned and certain items of work were to be decided by the Governor through the Chief Secretary. The Spokesman stated that the Governor had today decided to restructure the present decision making process keeping in view the new perspective. In this context, it was disclosed, the Governor would be issuing fresh instructions within the next few days. The Governor held detailed discussions in this regard with Chief Secretary Sharma late this evening.
