Kathua outshines others in state level ECI awareness Quiz

JAMMU, DECEMBER 22: Kathua district, which has bagged first position in the final round of state level ECI Quiz contest 2017, will represent J&K state in national level quiz of Election Commission of India.
In this regard, the final of the event was held today at Teachers Bhawan Gandhi Nagar.
Pertinently, 21 districts participated in this competition and eight districts qualified for finals and students from District Kathua got first position in final after a tough battle of six question rounds.
Chief Electoral Officer J&K, ShaleenKabra, Divisional commissioner, Jammu, M K Bhandari, Secretary Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Deputy CEO Dr Raman Kesar, and other Senior Officers of Election and Education Department were present on the occasion. 
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Electoral Officer J&K, ShaleenKabra, said that aim of such events is to aware young students with age of 14-17 years regarding the importance of enrolling oneself for voting besides creating awareness about Indian system and function of the democracy in the country. He also said that electoral clubs will be established in schools to boost such activities.   
CEO, later, presented certificates and trophies to the students who participated in the competition. He added that they will organize such events at district and Tehsil level in future.
