SRINAGAR, Oct 15: The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested a ward officer of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) in Srinagar for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
CBI laid a trap following a complaint and caught the officer allegedly accepting the bribe.
The officer was holding charge of Ward 18 (Safakadal) of the SMC
A case has been registered at the CBI Police Station in Srinagar under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
