DEO Ramban emphasizes importance of ensuring that every eligible citizen gets an opportunity to enroll as a voter

RAMBAN, OCTOBER 10: District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today chaired a meeting with representatives of various political parties to ensure the successful conduct of the Special Voter Enrolment Drive scheduled for October 10 and 11, 2026, across the district.

During the meeting, the DEO emphasised the importance of ensuring that every eligible citizen gets an opportunity to enroll as a voter.

He called upon political party representatives and concerned officials to actively spread awareness about the drive and encourage eligible citizens to register themselves as voters.

The drive is being conducted as part of the initiative launched by the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, to ensure that no eligible voter is left behind.

The Special Voter Enrolment Drive is being held on October 10 and 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at all polling stations across Jammu and Kashmir.

The drive aims to facilitate the enrolment of eligible voters, enable existing voters to update their electoral details and strengthen democratic participation by ensuring an inclusive and comprehensive electoral roll.

The DEO urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure maximum public participation, particularly by eligible citizens who are yet to register as voters.

He stressed that concerted efforts must be made to achieve the objective of “No Voter to Be Left Behind” and ensure that every eligible citizen is able to exercise their democratic right.

The meeting was attended by ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo, along with other concerned officers and representatives of political parties.
