Srinagar, Sep 29: CM Omar Abdullah chaired a meeting to review the Draft J&K Hydropower Policy 2026.
While reviewing the performance of the existing policy, the Chief Minister directed that the new policy should focus on accelerating the harnessing of J&K’s hydropower potential, enhancing power generation capacity and strengthening the overall electricity sector.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the policy should facilitate sustainable development of hydropower resources, contributing to energy security, economic growth and broader regional development across J&K.
