Jammu, September 23: In a significant achievement in the field of e-Governance and urban technology, Ankush Kapoor, Chief Informatics Officer, J&K Housing & Urban Development Department, has received copyright registration from the Copyright Office, Government of India, for his innovation titled “AI Driven Autonomous Building Compliance and Digital Twin Based Urban Governance System.”
The innovation, registered under Copyright Registration No. LD-20260195452 dated September 22, 2026, explores the use of Artificial Intelligence, GIS, Computer Vision and Digital Twin technology to make building compliance, construction monitoring and urban governance more automated, transparent and technology-driven.
A Provisional Patent for the underlying innovation was also filed earlier this year. Kapoor credited the achievement to the encouragement and trust extended by the senior leadership of the Housing & Urban Development Department who entrusted him with the opportunity to work on technology-driven solutions for urban governance.
The innovation reflects the growing use of emerging technologies in J&K’s e-Governance and Smart City initiatives, with the broader objective of creating more efficient and intelligent urban management systems.
