JAMMU, Sep 14: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today chaired a high-level meeting to review major health sector reforms aimed at ensuring affordable, accessible and quality healthcare across Jammu & Kashmir.
The Chief Minister reviewed key initiatives, including strengthening district hospitals, expanding cancer care facilities, promoting green healthcare infrastructure, enhancing staff capacity, scaling up drug de-addiction programmes and forging institutional tie-ups for advanced procedures such as liver transplants.
Emphasising the Government’s commitment to “Healthcare for All”, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure swift implementation of these initiatives so that modern medical facilities and specialised care reach every citizen, particularly those living in far-flung and remote areas.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Health & Medical Education Sakina Itoo , Advisor to Chief Minister Nasir Sogami , Chief Secretary and senior officers of the Health & Medical Education Department.
