SRINAGAR, Aug 14 : The Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Srinagar has convicted the then Executive Engineer, REW Ganderbal, and tthe then Orderly in the trap case registered by VOK (now ACB) Srinagar.
The case FIR No. 02/2014 PS VOK (Now ACB) was registered in connection with the demand and acceptance of illegal gratification during the processing of a contractor’s bill.
The Court held both accused guilty under the relevant provisions of the J&K Prevention of Corruption: Criminal misconduct under Section 5(2) read with Section 5(1)(d) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, Accepting illegal gratification under Section 4-A of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, Criminal conspiracy under Section 120B of the Ranbir Penal Code and sentenced each convict to four years’ simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 on each count, with the sentences to run concurrently.
