Srinagar/Baramulla, August 13: DGP J&K Shri Nalin Prabhat, accompanied by IGP Kashmir Shri V.K. Birdi, SSP Srinagar Dr G.V.Sundeep Chakravarthy and other jurisdictional officers, conducted a late-night ground review of security arrangements across Srinagar ahead of Independence Day.
The DGP personally inspected naka points, deployments and security arrangements at Bakshi Stadium, interacted with personnel on ground and assessed the overall preparedness. He briefed the deployed personnel and issued necessary directions for heightened alertness, effective coordination and robust security measures.
Director General of Police, J&K, Sh Nalin Prabhat, IPS, conducted a late-night visit to District Baramulla and inspected various naka points and night domination deployments established as part of the heightened security arrangements ahead of Independence Day.
The DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Zone Sh Vidhi Kumar Birdi, IPS; DIG North Kashmir Range Dr. Vinod Kumar, IPS; and SSP Baramulla. During the visit, the DGP reviewed naka checking, night patrolling, area domination and overall operational preparedness. He interacted with personnel deployed on the ground and emphasised heightened alertness, effective surveillance, intelligence-based policing and seamless inter-force coordination.
The DGP directed that suspicious persons and vehicles be subjected to thorough checking while ensuring minimum inconvenience to the general public. He appreciated the commitment of personnel deployed on night duties and exhorted them to remain vigilant and professional.
Senior officers briefed the DGP on the security grid and coordinated measures put in place across District Baramulla for Independence Day-2026.
