Jammu, Aug 12: DB of CAT orders to stop salary of ACS Jal Shakti J&K & Chief Engineer, PHE.
In M.A./1061/2026 (JAMMU) In O.A./692/2025 DEPARTMENT OF PHE Vs RAMESH SINGH after hearing CAT ordered as under:-
Mr. Rajesh Thappa, learned Additional Advocate General has filed Miscellaneous Application No. 1061 of 2026 on behalf of the respondent no. 4(applicant herein) praying therein for releasing his salary, which was stopped vide order dated 14.05.2026.
Chief Engineer, PHE, Jammu was personally present before the Tribunal through video conferencing, and submitted that the matter has been taken up with the administrative department, who has further taken up the matter with Finance Department for releasing of funds to honour payment of wages.
Respondents are directed to place on record the letters of correspondence in support of the contention made by the Chief Engineer.
Since, no progress has been made in this matter despite repeated directions given to the respondents, we are not inclined to allow the prayer made in the M.A., and keeping in view the persistent non-compliance of the directions given by this Tribunal, we are constrained to stop salary of respondent no. 1 (Commissioner/Secretary to Govt., Jal Shakti Department) and respondent no. 2 (Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti Department).
MA stands dismissed.
