SRINAGAR, Aug 9: J&K Police today conducted coordinated searches at 26 locations across Police District Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district in connection with an ongoing investigation into a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against the banned Jamaat-e-Islami.
Police said the searches were carried out at residential and other premises linked to JeI leaders, members and activists in different areas of the district,
During the searches, police recovered and seized documents, literature and electronic devices from several premises, according to the spokesperson.
The seized material is being examined to determine possible links and activities connected with the proscribed organization.
