JAMMU, July 17: A Special Anti-Corruption Court has declined a plea seeking registration of an FIR against a hotel owner, former revenue officials and retired J&K Bank officers over an alleged land encroachment at Jhajjar Kotli, but ordered the Crime Branch's Economic Offences Wing to conduct a preliminary enquiry into serious discrepancies concerning the identity and demarcation of the disputed land.
Special Judge Sonia Gupta passed the direction while disposing of an application filed seeking registration of an FIR against Barkada County Hotel owner, former Tehsildar Dansal, former Patwari and former J&K Bank Branch Managers.
The applicant alleged that he had purchased three kanals and one marla of land under Khasra No. 1126/480 at Jhajjar Kotli through an agreement to sell executed in 2012 and tha Barkada County Hotel owner in alleged connivance with revenue and bank officials, constructed Barcada County Hotel over the land.
However, the court, observed that the applicant had failed to produce any valid registered document establishing his ownership or possession over the land , only a photocopy of a single page of the alleged agreement to sell had been placed on record.
