New Delhi, July 12: In a significant administrative action, the Union Government has dismissed an Indian Administrative Service officer of the AGMUT cadre following the conclusion of a prolonged disciplinary and vigilance inquiry linked to alleged financial irregularities during her tenure in Arunachal Pradesh.
The officer, belonging to the 2003 batch, had earlier served as deputy commissioner of West Kameng district.
The decision to remove her from service was cleared after consultations with the Central Vigilance Commission and the Union Public Service Commission, which reportedly endorsed strict disciplinary action.
Investigations into the matter had been ongoing for several years. Allegations against the officer included misuse of official authority, irregular handling of government funds, and financial misconduct connected to developmental expenditures during her posting in the district between 2007 and 2008.
The disciplinary process was undertaken by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, which functions as the cadre-controlling authority for AGMUT officers.
