NEW DELHI, June 06: 15-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has become the youngest player to receive a maiden call-up to the Indian national team.
He made history in June 2026 by being selected for the senior men's T20I squad for the tours of Ireland and England.
Earlier, the record was held by Sachin Tendulkar, he was selected for India at the age of 16.
India are entering a new era with Shreyas Iyer being named as the new T20I captain, replacing Suryakumar Yadav who has been dropped from the squads for the upcoming Ireland and England T20Is.
Tilak Varma has been named as the vice-captain.
