Jammu, April 22: It is to mention here that once upon a time Master Plan of Patnitop Dev Authority was notified in the year 2000 but despite lapse of 26 years revised Master Plan of PDA is hanging in violation of J&K Development Act of 1970.
However, after publications of Cross Town News, then Tourism Secretary constituted a committee vide GO dtd. 3.11.22 headed by Director Tourism, Jammu to submit report in 15 day & vide G.0.dtd 04.07.2023 it was modified again but status of Master Plan is hanging in fire & not yet known.
Again Secretary to Govt Tourism vide order dtd 28.10.2024 directed CTPs of Jammu/Srinagar in reference to their communication dated. 06.08.202 for financial implications over framing of Revised & new Master Plans of Tourism dev Authority but after that till day despite lapse of 18 months neither any Master Plan or Revised Master Plan has been notified by the bosses of Tourism Department, needs actions on defaulting officers for causing intentional delays in public works causing harassment for building permissions.
It is to mention here that on a complaint filed by Rajesh Gupta, over the issue, Office of the LG fired a reminder in continuation to its previous communications to Financial Commissioner, Tourism vide No. LGS-1(GR)26/917 Dated. 28.02.2026 & above all one of the work knowing CEO, PDA after understanding the public issue communicated to the FC, Tourism vide letter dtd. 22.12.2025 & 12.02.2026 for consideration of Master Plan issues for development of the area but no actions has been seen on ground yet & till day all issues of Master Plans of TDA's are not framed on ground for different Tourism Development Authorities , how new development can take place along with building infrastructure similar to Tourist places in other States/UTs.
It is also a serious issue that how Building Bye Laws of MP of 2000 can be allowed in the year 2026 in BP Cases falling under Patnitop Dev Authority?
It is matter of enquiry that Patnitop Development Authority has wasted lakhs for revised Master Plan but whereabouts are not known needed to be enquired.
