JAMMU, Dec 9: Principal, Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, Dr Ashutosh Gupta said that all cardiac services have been restored in Super Speciality Hospital (SSH) Jammu.
Dr Ashutosh Gupta, said that all type of cardiac care services has been restored at SSH.
He said the suppliers had stopped providing essential implants without prior notice on December 8, citing delayed payments, triggering a situation that he described as both sudden and hazardous for patients needing emergency cardiac interventions.
“The stoppage amounted to a reckless breach of patient safety as SSH Jammu performs angiography, angioplasty, stenting, CCU management and other advanced cardiac procedures entirely cashless under the AB-PMJAY SEHAT scheme,” the Principal said.
Principal said on the directions of the Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, the Hospital authorities have secured devices from alternate vendors and supporting institutions.
Dr Ashutosh added that several corrective measures have also been set in motion, including urgent procurement of implants from authorized alternate suppliers, regulatory action by the Drug Controller J&K, against establishments found violating drug and patient-safety norms, and the filing of a criminal complaint supported by CCTV evidence regarding alleged theft and illegal removal of cardiac stents.
