JAMMU, June 14: Likewise Delhi , General Administartion department in Jammu and Kashmir may segregate into separate GAD and Services departments for better management.
Experts told Cross Town News that with Jammu and Kashmir is now Union territory , for better management of Human resources and the departments which are directly under control of Lieutenant Governor like Home and others , to take confusion out of structure , General Administration department in coming year can be segregated into two departments
The Services Department, Government of Delhi is entrusted with the responsibility of dealing with the service matters of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Delhi Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshwadeep, Daman & Diu and Dadar & Nagar Haveli Civil Service Officers (DANICS) posted in Delhi as well as officials /officers belonging to Delhi Administration Subordinate Services (DASS) Cadre and Stenographer Cadre of GNCT of Delhi.
As per allocation of Business Rules, the role of General Administration Department (GAD) of Delhi Government: The General Administration Department is a key department of the Government of NCT of Delhi situated in the Delhi Secretariat which is managing establishment and administrative matters of Council of Minister of Delhi Government and 700 Gazetted and Non-Gazetted officers and officials along with organisation of important functions, protocol matters, management of Canteen and Library apart from handling the administrative matters of 4 Departments (PWD, Finance, Home & Language) under its administrative control.
Though it will be a tedious process , the segregation of GAD cannot be ruled out for better management.
