Sambalpur, June 14: Goudpalli Revenue Inspector has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs 40000/=from a complainant to furnish favourable report in a lease case in his favour and his family members and for issuance of ROR (Land Patta) in their favour
Since November 2024, the complainant was requesting RI in the matter but he was demanding bribe Rs 40,000 to furnish a favorable report.
But thereafter, the complainant approached the Vigilance authorities & following this, a Vigilance team nabbed the RI today while taking the bribe.
The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of accused Pradhan.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Pradhan, RI from DA angle.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No. 12 dtd. 11.06.2025 u/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988, as amended by the P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused RI.
