Jammu, June 13, 2025: As part of the ongoing preparations for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2025 and to review tourism development projects, Vikas Gupta, JKAS, Director Tourism, Jammu, conducted an extensive tour of Samba and Kathua districts today.
He was accompanied by Sh. Aijaz Qaiser, JKAS, Joint Director Tourism, Jammu, CEO BBDA, Sh.Atul Gupta, JKAS and the Tourist Officer, Samba-Kathua.
The visit focused on assessing the progress of various works being executed in connection with the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, as well as other tourism-related infrastructure projects in the region.
The concerned executing engineers along with their teams were present to brief him about the status of the ongoing works.
As part of the visit, Director Tourism, Jammu Vikas Gupta also inspected the Tourist Transit Centres at Samba and Kathua to assess their readiness for facilitating the smooth movement of pilgrims during the Yatra.
He also inspected various tourist assets at Lakhanpur and Basholi, reviewing their condition and ongoing developmental works to further enhance the tourism infrastructure in these key locations.
During the inspection, Vikas Gupta directed the executing agencies to ensure the completion of all Yatra-related works in every respect by June 20, 2025.
He emphasized that timely completion of these works is crucial for ensuring smooth arrangements for the pilgrims and for improving the overall tourism experience in the region.
Underscoring the immense tourism potential of Samba and Kathua districts, Vikas Gupta stressed the need for coordinated and time-bound execution of tourism infrastructure projects.
He further highlighted that strengthening the tourism infrastructure in these districts would not only facilitate the Yatra arrangements but also contribute significantly to the promotion of tourism in the region in the long run.
