JAMMU, Feb 07: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, along with BJP State Vice-President Smt. Mamta Singh, called on BJP National President Amit Shah, Senior leader L.K. Advani, BJP National General Secretary (Org.) Ram Lal at New Delhi and apprised them of the current political and security scenario in Jammu & Kashmir. In his separate meetings with the National President and other national leaders, Dr. Nirmal Singh briefed them about the working of State’s coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, the initiatives being undertaken to accelerate developmental activities, weed out corruption and provide good governance to the people as promised during the poll campaign.
Dr. Nirmal Singh told the national leaders that the BJP has entered into the coalition with PDP to honour the mandate of the people. It is a arrangement for governance without compromising on the basic principles and ideology of the party and is working in unison to come up to the expectations of the people.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the historic package of rupees 80,000 crores for the state, as sanctioned by the Narendra Modi led government, has been widely appreciated by the people of J&K and sincere efforts are being made to ensure that every penny of this financial package is used judiciously. He also discussed the issues related to the displaced persons from POJK, West Pakistan Refugees, Border people etc. and expressed gratitude to the party at the national level for making concrete efforts in convincing the Union government to adopt humane approach towards these sections.
Dr. Nirmal Singh told Amit Shah and other leaders that the various centrally sponsored welfare schemes are being extended to every part of the state besides the state’s coalition initiating schemes on its own for the social and economic upliftment of the women, youth, downtrodden and weaker sections of the society He also conveyed to them that people in majority have appreciated the decision on demonetization and are looking towards Narendra Modi as a leader who stands committed to root out corruption from the country.
