Lucknow, Feb 12: Police filed a charge sheet against a Naib Tehsildar (Basti Sadar), in connection with a case of attempt to rape and sexual harassment of a Revenue Officer u/s under sections 452 (criminal house trespass), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (criminal force on woman outraging modesty) and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code. .
The 25-year-old survivor had filed a case against the accused, Ghanshyam Shukla, NT, alleging that he reached her official residence during the early hours of Nov 12 and tried to rape and strangulate her.
On Nov 27, the Kotwali police arrested Naib Tehsildar Shukla.
After getting no reprieve from the lower courts, the accused the high court which granted him bail.
The Basti Kotwali police presented all the records related to the case, including the case diary, map, view, and medical report to the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ashish Kumar Rai.
