JAMMU, Oct 24: Four months after Cross Town News reported the possibility of senior IAS officer Sajjan Singh Yadav being posted as Chief Secretary in one of the AGMUT cadre’s segments, his appointment as Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir has brought the June 4 report back into focus.
The report, authored by State Awardee Journalist and Editor Cross Town News Rahil Gupta, followed Sajjan Singh Yadav’s premature repatriation to the AGMUT cadre at the request of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
At the time, the 1995-batch IAS officer was serving as Special Secretary in the Department of Expenditure.
Citing sources, Cross Town News had reported that Yadav was likely to be assigned the post of Chief Secretary in one of the the AGMUT cadre.
The posting did not follow immediately, as Yadav was subsequently assigned to Delhi.
His eventual appointment to the top bureaucratic position in Jammu and Kashmir has now revived interest in the earlier report, which had pointed to the possibility of a Chief Secretary-level assignment.
