JAMMU, Feb 08: AIIMS Jammu has forged a significant partnership with HLL Lifecare Ltd., a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, to introduce essential healthcare facilities within the campus premises.
The agreements entail the establishment of AMRIT Pharmacy and Janaushadhi Kendra, aiming to enhance accessibility to affordable medicines for the public. AMRIT Pharmacy, an initiative by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, is geared towards providing affordable and reliable pharmacy services, while the Janaushadhi Kendra under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) scheme aims to make quality generic medicines accessible to all.
The signing ceremony was done in the presence of Prof (Dr) Y K Gupta, President, AIIMS Jammu and Prof (Dr) Shakti Gupta, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Jammu. The collaboration signifies a crucial step towards improving healthcare accessibility and affordability for the community. Prof (Dr) Shakti Gupta expressed his optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in fulfilling the Institution's commitment to holistic healthcare delivery.
The partnership is expected to significantly benefit the patients by providing them with access to a wide range of quality medicines at affordable prices, within the Hospital premises.
