Srinagar, Oct 1: LG Manoj Sinha congratulated J&K State Taxes Department on signing MoU with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for knowledge sharing, capacity building of the dept to establish a more efficient, transparent and fair indirect tax regime.
He said “ I compliment high standards of professionalism shown by Taxes Dept & ICAI. J&K's GST revenue growth has been much higher than the national average & we have reasons to be confident about future prospects due to reforms we carried out in the last few years to accelerate economic growth with social equality.”
He further added that New policies, greater transparency in governance & crackdown on cronyism have enabled enterprises, Industries & new-age businesses to grow & we've placed great emphasis to make the economy more competitive increase the tax base, compliance & strengthen trust between citizens & Govt.
LG said “ I recognize, appreciate honest taxpayers' contribution to J&K's development & I also compliment State Taxes Dept for simplifying tax processes & further I urge dept & citizens to play constructive role in pushing forward to industrialization & making J&K one of the engines of Viksit Bharat.”
