Samba, Nov 16: Department of Cooperatives samba in collaboration with kathua today organized a Divisional level coperative program at Block Nud of district Samba as a part of 68th cooperative week celebrations.
Ms. Yasha Mudgal, Secretary to the Government cooperatives department presided over the function where large number of locals as well as farmers were present.
The function saw display of various items produced by the self help groups , Farmers Producer Organizations (FPOs) from across the district and exhibited at MS Resort Nud.
Speaking on the occasion, the secretary stressed on the officers of Cooperative Department to work with dedication for achieving targets on time as assigned by hon'ble LG Sir . She advised participant Cooperators and departmental officials to work through convergence of various fields like agriculture, floriculture, Dairy, Fishery, Horticulture and other such potential areas and hoped that the department will make every effort towards a viable and vibrant Cooperative Movement in the Division.
she also briefed about the role of NABARD and its various schemes in deepening the roots of cooperative department and talked about the convergence of such other government initiatives meant to uplift the rural population and making them self reliant specially women.
Meanwhile, the Secretary also gave momentoes to the significant contributors in the cooperatives. She also handed over a LCD to the FPO Nud for their exceptional work.
Earlier, in her welcome address, Nirupa Rai, Additional Registrar, Cooperatives Department Jammu, gave a detailed overview of the cooperative societies in Jammu division wherein she also briefed about the registration of recent Farmer Producer Organization (FPOs) in Samba as Cooperatives.
Anamika, DGM NABARD , Tilak Raj Sharma ADDC Samba besides other senior officers and large number of members of various Cooperatives and Farmer-Producer Organizations were also present on the occasion.
