J&K: IMPARD concludes mega training  on disaster management




JAMMU, Oct 13:  Saurabh Bhaghat, IAS, Director General, J&K IMPARD, chaired the joint valedictory function of three Training Courses here at IMPARD Srinagar today the 13th of October 2021. These “Training Courses included “Sexual Harrasment of Women at Workplace”; “Disaster Risk Reduction in Urban Areas”; and Innovative Approaches for Sustainable Livelihoods”. The officer trainees who attended the training courses were from Departments of Agriculture,Rural Development,Medical & Health Education, SDRF,UEED ,etc. .   



Speaking on the occasion Shri Saurabh Bhagat, IAS, Director General, said that Disasters are high impact phenomena which wipe out years of development in a matter of few minutes or hours. Although Disasters cannot be avoided fully, yet their impact can be minimised by proper Disaster planning and management.



Speaking on the issues faced by working women, Shri Saurabh Bhagat, IAS,  Director General, said that with better access to education and employment opportunities, millions of women enter the workforce. It is therefore the duty of the employer to take measures to prevent harassment of women at their workplaces.



Speaking about Sustainable Livelihoods, Shri Saurabh Bhaghat, IAS, Director General, said that with increased population more and more people seek employment every year. But the Governments have to remain sensitive to produce employment opportunities for its people which are sustainable over time. 



Shri Saurabh Bhagat, IAS, Director General, informed the participants of these Training Courses that IMPARD would be conducting such programmes regularly to sensitize officers of various Department of the Government of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir to issues covered in these Training Courses.



              Also present on the occasion were Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Director Trainings (K), Course Coordinators Dr. J. A. Jabeen, Associate Professor, Dr. G. M. Dar, Associate Professor, and Dr. B. A. Kumar, Associate Professor.
