Poonch admin deputes teams for door to door Covid vaccination


POONCH, JUNE 09: District administration Poonch has deployed scores of health teams for door to door vaccination of persons falling in 45+ Category, even as 77 % age appropriate population has already been vaccinated.
Briefing media regarding COVID19 situation in the district, Deputy Commissioner, Inder Jeet said that the Health Department has deployed teams to visit door to door to achieve 100 percent vaccination in 45+ category.
Giving further details, the Deputy Commissioner said that presently the district has 973 active covid positive cases, of which 870 are in home quarantine and rest are in Covid Care Centers. He said that the recovery rate has improved by  10 percent .He also informed that 77 % vaccination above the age of 45 has been done  and  the rate of positivity has dropped to 1.65 percent as of yesterday, which is a very positive development vis a vis Covid 19 Pandemic.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that 5 bedded Covid Care Centres have been established in all 229 Panchayats of the district in which all logistics arrangements are made available for the   Covid patients. He said 1498 covid tests have been conducted in these centres and 7 people tested positive. These patients have been admitted in respective CCC and are being properly monitored and taken care of.
He also informed that 42 Oxygen concentrators and 21 oxygen cylinders have been provided to different Covid Care Centres established at Panchayat level in the district. In addition to this, Oximeters, Medicines and all other necessary arrangements have been made for the patients.
 The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the general public, religious leaders, media persons and prominent citizens for their cooperation in successful implementation of the corona curfew and COVID related protocols in the district and urged them to keep supporting the District Administration in its fight against the pandemic.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that as the lockdown has been relaxed in the district Poonch, It becomes necessary to follow Covid appropriate behavior otherwise the benefits achieved may be diluted.
