100% rural electrification will soon be achieved:Dy CM

Maintain vigil against forces hell bent to disrupt peace and harmony: Dy CM

 Kathua, September 13 - “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have maintained the age old amity among diverse communities despite attempts by peace inimical elements to create communal wedge between various communities and people of the state should maintain vigil against the forces hell bent to disrupt peace and harmony”.

Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh said this while addressing a public meeting at village Chajarth in border area of Hiranagar today.

Dr. Singh said that present PDP-BJP alliance is marching ahead with an agenda to bring the state on development path by devising out schemes and programme for all sections of the society. He said that the present dispensation has initiated developmental projects to meet the aspiration and expectations of the people.

While throwing light on the works undertaken by the present regime, Dr Nirmal Singh said several landmark decisions like setting up of medical colleges, engineering colleges, Universities, AIMS, IIT, IIM and IIMC besides other infrastructure for bringing the quality change in the lives of the people.

 Dr Nirmal Singh said that government is moving ahead with the vision to bring J&K on the world tourism map.  He also said  that a process for construction of  Rs 1000 Cr Tawi River Front has been initiated on the lines of Sabarmati River Front Model under which tourist amenities will be developed to attract tourist footfall in Jammu also. He further said ambitious project like developing water sports at Ranjit Sagar Dam Reservoir, Gondola at Patnitop and Ropeway Project at Mubarak Mandi-Bawe Wali Mata will contribute immensely  to attract tourists. 

Highlighting the various  schemes and programmes of state as well as central government Deputy CM said  that under  centrally sponsored scheme Deen Dayal Upadhayay Gramin Vidyutikiran Yojna  100% rural electrification will soon be achieved. He said under UJALA scheme  LED bulbs on subsidized rates will be given to every family which will bring the electricity bill down for the consumers and save the electricity for the state & for the nation as well. He further said  that government is working on a  plan to allocate 1 Cr for each constituency for poles and electricity wires which will improve the electricity scenario in the state.

Responding to the demand of road connectivity for habitations like Juthana and its periphery, Dr Nirmal Singh said, the work on 47 Cr Juthana Bridge will commence soon which will help people to get all weather road connectivity. He assured that all the projected issues by the people will be redressed on priority.

While highlighting the various developmental  projects initiated by the government in the state, Deputy CM said project to the tune of Rs.100 crore have been initiated in  Kandi areas of Billawar . 

Earlier people of Amala, Sprain, Bohra, Mela, Nouni Badholi, Mangloor, Dhoukal, dhalli etc projected demands and problems which were mainly related to the provision of basic amenities.

Officers of sub division Hiranagar and Block Dinga Amb and people in large number were also present on the occasion.
