KVIB provides Rs. 1.66 crore subsidy to 127 entrepreneurs


 

 

         JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 07- Vice Chairman Khadi Village Industries Board (KVIB), Mansoor Hussain Soharwardhy Wednesday chaired a meeting to review functioning of the Board.

          While chairing the meeting, Mansoor Hussain informed that the KVIB has established 127 units in the current year involving an amount of Rs. 1.66 crore as margin money disbursed in favour of unemployed youth of Jammu division for establishing income generating units under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) against the target of 338 cases. These entrepreneurs shall further provide employment to more unemployed youths in their units he added.

          To streamline the functioning of Board various issues were discussed in the meeting. Officers of the Board apprised the VC about problems being faced by them during work and urged him to intervene into the matter for their redressal.

         Mansoor Hussain assured the officers that he would take up the matter with higher authorities so as to mitigate their genuine problems soon. He also said to all the district officers to submit cluster report by 15th of October and directed them to work with zeal and dedication so as to achieve the targets.

          While talking about the unemployed youth of the state, the VC stressed to organize maximum numbers of awareness camps in the far flung areas of the districts so as to propagate the schemes being implemented by the KVIB so that the benefit reaches to youth.

          Deputy Chief Executive Officer Jammu, Santosh Saraf highlighted the achievements of the Board. He informed the VC that last year against the target of 330 cases, KVIB established 283 units which involves margin money amounting to Rs. 514.35.

          Among others the meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief Executive Officers, KVIB Muzzafar Alaqaband and Tufail Ahmed, besides and district officers and other senior officers of the KVIB.
