Rs 27.50 cr as royalty from the cement factories during three years in J&K: Ganga

SRINAGAR, June 22:Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr Chander Parkash Ganga today informed the House that Government has taken stringent measures to check pollution in the industrial premises areas of Kashmir valley.

The Minister while replying to supplementaries by some member said “we are in consultation with the Forest, Environment and Ecology Ministry, which has given two months deadline to industrial units for installing pollution checking instruments.”  

He assured the House that Government will call a meeting with Industrialists soon. “Whatever Government has to do on developmental side, we will do and whatever is to be done under CSR, we will get it done,” Ganga ended.

Replying to the main question of Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Mr Ganga said that the Department of Geology and Mining has collected Rs 27.50 crore as royalty from the cement factories in Khrew and Khunmoh areas during the last three years. The Minister also informed the House that Industries and Commerce Department (Geology and Mining Department) have collected Rs 3.98 crore during last three years from the Quarries at Pantha Chowk, Athwajan, Zewan, Khunmoh and Khrew areas of Sonawar constituency.
