Sham  inaugurates Gram uday se Bharat uday campaigning

JAMMU, APRIL 15:- “The welfare of India depends on the prosperity of the villages” This was stated by the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary while inaugurating Gram uday se bharat uday campaigning (village emergence and development to bharat emergence and development) at Suchetgarh today.

The function started with paying homage to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the journey of Ambedkar’s life with emphasis on his views about the national unity and his work for upliftment of weaker sections of the society.

Sham Choudhary stated that majority of our people live in villages, hence it becomes the duty of the concerned officers to reach them and make masses aware of the programmes and schemes being undertaken by the department for the socio-economic upliftment of the people at Panchayat level.

 The Minister said that, the aim of this campaign is to make nationwide efforts to strengthen the Panchayati Raj institutions and through them boost social harmony in the villages, promote rural development and foster farmer’s welfare and prosperity by educating them about various initiatives, programmes and schemes undertaken by the government. This abhiyan is designed to build self reliance in communities and bring an integrated development of rural areas.

On the occasion Sham Choudhary said that they should not feel shy in registering their demands for their development and welfare. He urged them to come forward and play a proactive role in availing the benefits of welfare schemes launched by government.

Among others Sarpanches, Panches, Lamberdars, prominent citizens and large numbers of people attended the function.
