Zulfkar demands immediate steps for ceasefire on LoC

SRINAGAR, Aug 16: In view of the unprovoked Pak firing on Poonch borders, Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Department & Tribal Affairs Ch. Zulfkar Ali has appealed both India and Pakistan to take immediate steps for restoring immediate truce on LoC and Border so that common people do not suffer.The Minister said that border people in Poonch are worst sufferers due to frequent Pak firing and there should be a permanent solution to stop this. He called upon the leadership of both the countries to work out their differences and evolve a permanent solution to ensure a peaceful atmosphere on LoC and Borders.

 

The Minister has also appealed the Government of India for granting financial package for permanent rehabilitation of border and LoC residents and demanded a policy to deal with the border and LoC affected families.Meanwhile, the Minister instructed the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu to ensure safety and security of the residents. He also directed the Deputy Commissioner, Poonch to personally visit the affected areas and ensure arrangements for safety of the affected people along the LoC. 

 

Ch. Zulfkar Ali has said that state government is making every possible effort to help the residents and civil and police administration has already been pressed into service to help all those affected in the border firing.
